Analysis of "Paper Sky"

I decided to watch the animation called "Paper Sky" this time because the way that it was set up was quite interesting to me. Instead of using cartoon-like characters, this animation was made entirely of cardboard (except for the blue sky movie). I have never seen anything made of cardboard before. It's a very original idea.
The cardboard in the animation is just cut out pieces with drawings on them that look like they were drawn by a child. The whole animation is about how a man has the same boring routine everyday inside this cardboard box. He goes to work, comes home and then goes to bed. It's the same routine for him everyday until he sees a bit of blue sky outside his bathroom. He then looks forward to seeing that bit of blue which makes his day more tolerable.
I noticed that there are a lot of references to the sky throughout the animation. For example, the wife's dress and the sheets on his bed all have a drawn sky on them. Outside his office window there is also a drawn sky. Compared to the blue movie sky he sees, these images of the sky are dull and boring much like his everyday life. I think that this little cardboard man looks forward to watching the sky that is so different and brilliant to him. "Paper Sky" is a truly original animation because of it's creative idea of using cardboard cut outs as it's scenery, plot and even characters.
